?This guide

Driving keys are ignored while you are typing in a field or a dialog is open. Showroom: arrow keys orbit and zoom when the view has focus.

Touch

  • ◀ ▶ large steering buttons, bottom left.
  • Gas and Brake pedals, bottom right. Steer and accelerate at the same time with two fingers.
  • D / R selects reverse when stopped. HB is the handbrake. JET launches a jet flight.
  • Camera, Reset and Pause are in the top bar.
  • Showroom: drag to orbit, pinch to zoom.

Stunt lab

  • Space play / pause · ← → step half a second · Home start
  • C camera (Follow → Wide → Orbit) · R restart · P play / pause
  • Drag the view to orbit; scroll or pinch to zoom. Choose a vehicle to see which stunts the same rig can still do.

Laps

The circuit has 7 checkpoints plus the start/finish line. A lap only counts when every checkpoint is crossed in order. Resetting the car voids the current lap. Times use simulation time, so pausing does not affect them.

Handling

An arcade-style simulation, not a validated vehicle-physics model. Steering becomes less aggressive at speed; grass slows the car and reduces grip.

The application

Grid Roadster is an original browser driving application inspired by interactive vehicle showcases. The car, circuit, interface, textures and sounds are generated in code for this project; no third-party vehicle model, branding or audio is used.

Stunt lab

A scrubbable replay of a half-pipe climb and a jet-powered flight for 13 different bodies carrying the same fictional fan-and-air-jet rig. Every run is calculated with a fixed-step simulation, so the force diagram shows the forces that produce the motion you see. The rig, numbers and masses are illustrative teaching values, not data about any real vehicle.

Accessibility

Menus, settings and dialogs work with a keyboard and screen readers, with visible focus and reduced-motion support. Driving itself is a visual experience and is not accessible without sight.
